Fees and Insurance

You deserve to work with a therapist that makes you feel seen and heard. I offer a free 15-20 minute consultation to all who are interested in starting therapy. This gives us a chance to briefly chat about why you want therapy and see if we’re a good fit.
-
When we start therapy together, we meet for an initial assessment to create a customized treatment plan and then ongoing for continued care. You can expect an individual session with me to be 50 minutes. If you need a session with a longer duration time, please discuss with me during our initial consult.

I know how helpful it can be to use insurance benefits when they’re available. I am out of network (OON) with insurance, but offer “superbills” to clients who would like to use their OON benefits.
If you’re unsure about your OON benefits, please use the Mentaya Benefits Checker to see if you qualify for reimbursement.
-
I offer a limited number of sliding scale therapy slots for people who cannot afford market rates for therapy and do not have OON benefits with their insurance by partnering with Open Path Collective. If you are interested in a sliding scale slot, please register with Open Path. Once you are registered, you will be provided an Open Path Member ID which you can share with me during our consult.
Good Faith Estimate
As of January 1, 2022, federal laws regulating client care have been updated to include the “No Surprises” Act. This Act requires health care practitioners to provide current and potential clients a “Good Faith Estimate” (GFE) on the cost of treatment.
This new regulation is designed to provide transparency to patients regarding their expected medical expenses and to protect them from surprises when they receive their medical bills. It allows patients to understand how much their health care will cost before they receive services.
Providing an estimate on the number of sessions needed to complete or “graduate” from therapy depends on a number of factors including, but not limited to, each client’s individual goals, severity of symptoms, frequency of sessions (e.g. weekly, biweekly), and willingness by the client to complete homework assigned in between sessions. I will work collaboratively with you to determine the clinically recommended frequency and duration of treatment.
We will review the GFE during the initial assessment and I will send an electronic form for signature. You will receive a copy of this document for your records.
